Your gallery is superb and just what I was looking for. I have a couple of questions though..
Would it be possible to include a "Thumb" icon under the embed and share icons with the functionality to "like" the video (youtube-url through xml) on Facebook? That would be one awesome feature to have!
next to that:
Is it possible to resize the description-box when clicked on "pause" ? My player frame is 520 px (with the menu under the video), now the description box is going out of the 520px width when clicked on "pause"..
Is it possible to have a scrollbar under the menu? Can I set the speed of scrolling through videos? (it's really really fast now, navigating is pretty tough this way)
I already solved the last question about the scrollbar under the menu but it seems that there's something wrong with it.. There's the scroll head which displays fine but now my player has a grey background and is not displaying the scroll-background? See the player here..
1. Because videos share the same base link ( the link of the gallery ), facebook will count the likes of all the videos of the gallery togheter. Will investigate on that further, maybe an htaccess solution.
2. Will fix that bug on the next version
3. Hmm.. open wp-content/plugins/dzs-videogallery/videogallery.php and around line 517 you should see
if ($zs1_items[$k][0][9] == 'on' && $zs1_items[$k][0][3] == 'down')
Thank you for the reply, do you have any idea when the next update will be available?
3. I am not using the wp-plugin but the stand alone version...
Too bad there's no FB "like" possibility i really need that feature.. Do you have any other suggestions, plugins or ideas how I can fix that? Maybe another youtube player/gallery?
Aw, sorry about that, but the base idea stands -> reduce the embed height or set wmode to transparent.
Hmm, yes that would be cool, I'll think of a solution.
All I know at the moment is that deeplinking would not work for Facebook. For example take a look at this page -> http://www.codingjack.com/royale/fashion/gallery_two_column.html -> open the first video, click Like -> open the third video now, you will see that you cannot click Like because the button is already checked ( as if they had the same link )
LE: Maybe create a different page for each video ? Everything will work the same except that when you click a video it will go to a different page. What do you think ?
About the liking.. The thing is, with deep linking the video gets a new link right? But I would like to be able to "like" the original youtube links.. When this application is pulling content from a source at youtube (ex. someones youtube-channel) isn't there a way to connect the original youtube-url of the video that's playing to a like button? And a share button or embed button for the original youtube file instead of my player?
To summarize: the possibility to "like" the original links from youtube, not the (new generated) deeplinks.. i'm using this player mainly to have a beautiful channel display and to promote the original content and links from youtube.. Through the "like" button the original youtube channel is being promoted and not my own player..
Haha! Alright now we're on the same page.. I am aware of that of course I need to promote their channel as they are putting effort in getting many views and back links to their youtube page.. I am embedding this channel in Facebook..
So that's possible, do you have any idea how much it'll cost me and how long it will take to develop such a functionality? (I have to compare the price with how much the client is paying for this feature of course..)
There's no styling editing xml for the mobile ? Or can i use the design.xml from the normal installation file? Also there's no tag for enabling the youtube user channel?
okey, thanks.. I have to think about that and get back to you..
I found the css file, thank you. But how do I set the user channel with iOS? Is it possible to use the flash version and iOS version together? When a user with mobile device like an iPad visits the page they get to see the iOS version?
About your offer.. I have thought about it but my client isn't paying a lot of money for this feature. So I would like to do you a counter offer.. For $80: - Facebook Like button for the video that's currently playing (liking the original youtube-url) - Social sharing for the original youtube-url instead of the custom player - (if possible embedding feature also for the original youtube movie) - Bug fixes for the description length when clicked pause (at this moment a "long" description falls out of the dimensions of the player) - The horizontal slider has some kind of background but it's only displaying a little piece of that.. (http://fctwente.fbsite.nl/tv/) - Can you set the player up for us? So that people also can use it on iPad and android tablets? And maybe style it in the colors I send you?
I hope you will think about it and can help me out..
